The Role:
Customer Service Representative/Import Export Specialist Tannin Corporation Peabody, MA Tannin Corporation is seeking a Customer Service Representative/Import Export Specialist, to be a supportive force who empowers our senior leadership. The ideal Customer Service Representative/Import Export Specialist will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to details. The Customer Service Representative/Import Export Specialist will have prior experience working in a fast-paced environment working with sales, operations and management teams in handling a wide range of project-related assignments and administrative tasks. Customer Service Representative/Import Export Specialist Qualifications and Skills High school diploma required, plus 2+ years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and the skill needed to handle customer correspondence A courteous, friendly telephone manner Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; ERP and/or CRM experience preferred Great attention to detail Position requires dependability and a team player attitude Ability to work independently and be a self-starter Participate in required safety trainings; and must be able to adhere to safety practices Why you should apply: Competitive salary and benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and 401K Customer Service Representative/Import Export Specialist Job Responsibilities Work closely with Customer Service peers and Purchasing Communicate regularly with customers with a primary focus on direct shipments, exports and import orders Process and acknowledge routine customer inquiries, orders, and standard correspondence on deliveries, purchase orders, technical product bulletins, product safety information, order changes and related matters for Domestic and International Direct Shipments Coordinate with other departments in processing orders, scheduling pick-ups and transportation to provide on-time delivery to Direct Shipment customers Assist in the development of management reports to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the company's operations Provide support for the company's sales department including running sales report, update costs and pricing for Direct Shipment Customers Coordinate international shipments and/or commodities to/from various countries from various vendors for direct shipment customers Maintain procedural control of import/export processes Prepare and maintain export documentation and ensure compliance with customs and government regulations Maintain, update, and communicate relevant information (regarding master data, delivery schedules, stock-and-order status, and contract information) from suppliers, procurement, and logistic service providers Maintain accurate records of all transactions Log and track shipment details using customized software (when available) Work directly with Direct Shipment providers (freight forwarders, Customs Brokers, Truckers, Vendors) that oversee the Company's Domestic and imports/export Direct Shipments and provide support to facilitate the release of Domestic and import/export Direct shipments About Tannin Corporation Tannin Corporation was founded in 1944 to manufacture and distribute leather chemicals to the large concentration of tanners in the New England area of the United States.
