Sales Consultant
The Role:
*Summary/Objective:* Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as a key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. Advises and assists clients and customers on the application, purchase, installation and maintenance of products and systems. Helps companies find the right products to improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing and industrial processing operations. Accountable for developing and maintaining customer accounts through learning customers' businesses, identifying business needs, and proactively seeking ways to promote and sell our products and services to meet their needs. *Essential Functions:* (This description is not all inclusive, other duties may be assigned): * Drives profitable sales growth of Hudson's products and solutions by working directly with new and existing customers, our partners, and the Hudson team. * Provides pre-sales technical assistance and product education and post-sales support and services. * Develops and maintains long-term relationships with customers through managing and interpreting their requirements—speaking with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their needs. * Maintains electronic sales tracking—call frequency, sales call reports, quotations, expense reports and monthly sales control reports. * Documents and communicates customer requirements to team members. · Works with customer service department to review sales orders. * Coordinates technical presentations and discussions between Hudson team members and our customers, demonstrating how a product meets client needs. * Works with the President, Hudson Cutting Solutions on the development of forecasts for sales; develops strategies and implementation to ensure that the objectives are realized. * Develops support materials for other members of the sales team. * Keeps well informed of customers' operations and reports to President, Hudson Cutting Solutions developments in competitive strategies, product information and/or other opportunities within customer businesses/facilities which are significant. * Makes recommendations for the introduction of new customers, products and the improvement of existing processes and products. * Supports marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as required * Conducts surveys, investigations or studies within assigned accounts at the direction of management. *Competencies:* · High Technical/ engineering competency required to understand customers specific requirements and be able to devise and present custom cutting solutions. · Oral Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. · Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. · Written Comprehension - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. · Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. · Problem Resolution - Resolve the problem by review with Engineers, Service Technicians Customer Service Representatives and Customers. · Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. · Speech Clarity - The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you · Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Knowledge of comparable products, industry practices and close contact with key customers. * Ability to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. · Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office. * Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. *Preferred Education and Experience:* * An engineering background, with a degree from an accredited engineering institution preferred. *AAP/EEO Statement:* Our Company is an equal opportunity employer.
