UDC Sales Manager-Games
The Role:
SUMMARY Overview of the position This individual will champion the company's sales efforts in the TCG and board game channel, via the development of relationships with gaming shops and distributors both domestic and abroad. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned. Gain support and sales of new trading card games, board games, and other related products from hobby/gaming retailers. Expand on the existing roster of gaming and hobby shops (CDD's) that support Upper Deck game products. Work with brand to create compelling organized play programs. Work with the marketing team to create new programs to promote sell-in and sell-through of game products. Manage sales and distribution for new product line introductions as well as existing inventory. Build relationships with retailers and communicate requirements to brand teams. Become proficient in all aspects of game play regarding all UD game products Monitor, analyze, and improve sales activity and profitability at all accounts. Develop and maintain a complete understanding of competitors' activity, including product-by-product breakdown. Propose initiatives leading to sales increases at hobby. Present products and promotions to retailers. Work with brand managers to develop detailed product presentations. INTERACTION This person will interact closely with the EVP of Sales, as well as the Product Development and Marketing Teams within the company. They will also be responsible for interacting with distributor representatives. EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of related sales and management experience including developing sales programs and sales to retail channels. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrated ability to deliver results; a strategic thinker with experience in executing sales initiatives; able to effectively manage internal cross-functional relationships, too. Background in the games industry preferred. Ability to accurately forecast and budget a must. P&L knowledge a plus. Proven ability to deliver to the Company and departmental objectives. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Expertise in relationship building. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with keen attention to detail. Superior interpersonal, leadership, negotiating, consulting, analytical and problem-solving abilities. Professional demeanor; team player orientation. Ability to interface with internal and external parties at all levels. Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment. Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter. Ability to travel on behalf of the Company. Advanced proficiency in the following software or systems: MS Office, Excel.
